Thomas
Kilroy was born in 1934 in County Kilkenny and now lives in County
Mayo. His novel, The Big Chapel, was shortlisted for the
Booker Prize and won the Guardian Fiction Prize and the
Heinemann Award.

Winner of the 2008 Irish PEN/A T Cross Award for Literature, Thomas Kilroy received The Irish Times/ESB ‘Lifetime Achievement’ Award in 2004.
