Tom
MacIntyre was born in Cavan in 1931. He has published a novel,
two books of stories, political documentary, versions of Irish
poetry from the 17th and 18th centuries, and two collections of
his own poems, one of which, Silenius na gCat won the Oireachtas prize for
poetry in 2000.
His plays, among them The Great Hunger (based on Patrick
Kavanagh's poem), Rise Up Lovely Sweeney and Kitty O'Shea,
have been produced in Ireland, Russia, France and the United States.
Tom MacIntyre lives in Cavan. He is a member of Aosdána.
