Translations from the Italian
of Giovanni Pascoli
with paintings and drawings
by Martin Gale
On 22 August of this year Seamus Heaney welcomed and enthused about the proofs of a book we planned to publish in November. We have decided to proceed with this publication in honour of our belovèd friend. This handsome edition features an ‘opulent’ array of pencil drawings and colour reproductions of paintings by Martin Gale specially created in response to this work.
The edition is limited to 575 copies of which 500 only are for sale. It is printed on Mohawk Superfine and hardbound in linen with blind embossed title in a Pergamenata wraparound.
The Last Walk is the sixth title in this greatly admired series. The Riverbank Field by Seamus Heaney (and Martin Gale) and Conversation in the Mountains by John Banville (and Donald Teskey) are out of print. A limited number of signed copies of Somewhere the Wave by Derek Mahon (and Bernadette Kiely), Wayside Shrines by Paul Muldoon (and Keith Wilson) and A Man’s World by Brian Friel (and Basil Blackshaw) are still available.
Please note: The edition may be oversubscribed, so we can’t guarantee that all orders will be filled. Books will be ready for distribution in the first week of December.
